Matterhorn Guides museum

The Mountain Museum is located at 2, Via Circonvallazione, Breuil-Cervinia (within the Municipality of Valtournenche). Not only is this the headquarters of the Matterhorn Mountain Guide Association, but an area used for exhibitions dedicated to trekking and mountaineering.
Incorporated into the museum is the old Luigi Amedeo di Savoia Mountain Hut which was built in 1893 but dismantled and entirely reassembled in the Guides’ Office in Breuil-Cervinia in 2004. It was removed from its original site as it was judged unsafe due to transformations occurring to the mountain over the last decade.
