BACKCOUNTRY SPLIT – SNOWBOARD COURSE

SUBJECTS:
• Material, clothing, nutrition
• Climbing technique (diagonals, inversions)
• Descent technique (how to safely descend on any type of snow and slope out
track)
• Notions of self-rescue in avalanches (use of the avalanche transceiver, multiple searches, dynamics of
intervention)
• Outlines of snow and avalanches
• Notions of topography (knowing how to read a topographic map, use of compass and GPS)
• How to prepare a ski tour (choice of itinerary, evaluation of the ski tour)
Study of the terrain, the ascent and descent route, reading weather and avalanche bulletins, preparing the
backpack, etc)
