The Monte Rosa group, both for its proximity and for its height, is an endless source of high altitude ‘trekking’ as well as mountaineering on ice and rock. The climb to the Punta Gnifetti is the most classic climb of the area, but not for this the easiest, in fact the continuous stay at altitude consecrates one of the most sought-after climbs. The historic Regina Margherita hut (4554 m), the highest refuge in the Alps, is situated in a point of incomparable landscape with its unique architecture.
